Seeing the leadership landscape more clearly
Meet Chris
A C-suite Coach since 2007, I specialise in working with executives within Business Units and subsidiaries of large FTSE100, multinational businesses and public sector organisations. This breadth of experience across multiple sectors and geographies enables me to evoke insight for those navigating and moulding their leadership landscape.
While I loved working in-house as a part-time executive coach, I became passionate about the idea of spending all of my working efforts in this arena. When I had the chance to reflect on my working life during the COVID lockdown, I knew the opportunity had finally arrived and within the year Silver Howe Coaching was born. I now have the pleasure of working with talented leaders and their teams from all over the world.
I combine my coaching expertise and commercial corporate background, to help executives to raise awareness of their potential and make choices to unlock their true selves. I am equally comfortable working independently, or as a part of a consultant team, whether working 1-2-1, with a leadership team or facilitating large group interventions.

Why Silver Howe Coaching?
Whilst on a walking holiday in the Lake District with my wife, Claire, I found myself climbing a relatively small fell called Silver Howe. The easiest way to reach the top is from the village of Grasmere, which has its own synonymous lake. From the shoreline you can only see this one lake and yet with some strong walking shoes and a good map you can reach the summit and suddenly you can see Rydal Water beyond Grasmere. And if you turn to the south, you get great views of Elterwater, Loughrigg Tarn and, in the distance, Lake Windermere. A further 90-degree turn brings you the magnificent sight of the Langdales, with the high peaks around Scarfell Pike in the background.
This elevated view, reached with relatively little effort, gives a much clearer sense of the local landscape, it’s topography and how best to manage moving around the area (in a completely different way to seeing it on a map!). Additionally, this position also gives you early warning of any change in the weather coming on the prevailing south westerly winds. All of this can be invaluable to anyone intending to walk any distance over the fells. It’s vital information when planning which route you might take, depending on personal preferences and capabilities, along with the equipment that might be needed to aid navigation and to protect yourself against the changes in the climate. It may also give you insight into whether you are happy travelling alone or if it’s sensible to share the risk by joining with others.
So what has this to do with Coaching?
This all reminds me of my beliefs as a coach. By partnering with my clients, whether individuals or teams, I help them to elevate their gaze, to shift their perception of the organisational landscape and climate they operate in and to plan more effectively the route to success. And once they embark on the journey I walk alongside them to see if they are on track or if they need to reassess and adapt their route.
As my coach Chris helped me through a period in my career with ever mounting pressure and dwindling support framework. He helped me navigate challenges and develop alternate perspectives that facilitated solutions to really important questions in this period.
Chris also helped my wider team using tools and techniques that created a connection and engagement I've never seen before. He had an impact across the business that was positive and value enhancing but importantly made the environment a better place to be and for that I know many thank him.
I look forward to my continue connection with Chris and would highly recommend the help and support he can provide.

How we work
Coaching is a supportive relationship where coach and client work in partnership to enable the client to change and grow either personally or professionally. The coach’s role is:
to support and challenge the coachee to consider their current situation
to help them gain new perspectives as they decide what is important
to clarify a set of appropriate goals, and how best to achieve them,
to work together on identifying and overcoming internal or external obstacles along the way.
We aim to build trust quickly by being clear about what we expect of each other. Once you have decided to work with us, we will ask you to read and confirm that you agree to the terms and conditions in our coaching agreement below.
